Finding the holes in my wardrobe
I am not sure that I really want to have an ENTIRELY self made wardrobe. I've yet to make a pair of pants. I don't knit. And I'm not really interested in making my own bras and underpants (MeUndies for LYFE). But when I was putting laundry away last night I noticed one area where me-mades are really under-represented.
Meet my pajama drawer. Cute, colorful, exactly the way I like to dress. Yes, I often wear these prints together without worrying about matching. The only things I might match are my Star Wars tee shirts to my space pants. Full of cute prints and soft tees. But Me Mades? There are only three.
A knit tee shirt and a shortie pajama set. Everything else in the drawer is store bought. Compare that to dresses... (Arrows are to things I DIDN'T make!)
You'll see the discrepancy.
It's not that I never think about making pajamas. I do. I just get distracted by making things I'll actually wear out of the house. But when I think about it, me made sleepwear has huge advantages. I can choose soft, luxurious fabrics. I can make them to my preference (high necks please!). I can make them fit well to eliminate discomfort.
So what do you think? Any wonderful pajama patterns to recommend? What fabrics and styles do you love to lounge in?
